Live as a “Miyadaiku”
We utilize the traditional wooden construction techniques inherited from our first master carpenter, Okamoto, to deliver high quality and great impressions, and contribute to the preservation and development of Japanese culture.

What is “Shokodo” ?

Shokodo is a team of “Miyadaiku” (temple carpenters) based in Kyoto, founded in 2001.

The average age of the shrine carpenters is 28 years old.

We build, repair, and restore shrines and temples using traditional techniques to pass on to future generations the beautiful traditional Japanese culture and wooden construction techniques that our predecessors have connected to the present day.
